Plus ... here's an event within the event...
Please join us for the opening of FEAST, October 1st from 6 PM - 9 PM, during Art for Art's Sake at Gallery I/O located at 1812 Magazine Street, NOLA. Art for Art's Sake is not only the hottest art happening of the year, it also marks the change of seasons in New Orleans; when locals cool off and food festivals reign supreme - ahem Fried Chicken Festival, yes please! This year Gallery I/O can think of no better way to add to the festivities than to celebrate with a FEAST, a tabletop-themed show running October 1 - November 19, 2016. FEAST is part tablescaping part art installation; a curated collection of artisan-made functional dinnerware & thematically related decorative objects — both for the body and home. A touch of fantasy to the functional. Designed to illustrate the potential to inspire revelry around a “dream-like” dining experience. Textiles, glass, wood, ceramic and metal mingle to create a FEAST for the eyes and FUEL for the soul. In addition to the exhibition, owner and artist Thomas Mann, will don his chef’s hat for the occasion and will prepare hors d’oeuvres from his work in progress "The DECONSTRUCTIVIST Cookbook", as a teaser for an upcoming private dinner that will raise funds for Louisiana artists affected by the flood. Feast Artists : David Jones Stacey Lee Webber Holly Tornheim Dennis Ray Rachel Shimpock Nancy Adams Boline Strand Sandra Byers Thomas Mann
