Cornstalk Hotel

Built in 1816, the beautiful historic landmark Cornstalk Hotel boasts fourteen exquisite guest rooms, all with private baths. A detailed renovation saw the Cornstalk's lovely interior completely refurbished with genuine antiques, crystal chandeliers, and more special touches that set it apart from other boutique hotels. The hotel's iconic iron cornstalk fence, with ornate details like pumpkins and butterflies, was commissioned in 1856 by the owner, whose young bride pined for the cornfields of her native Iowa.

Located at 915 Royal Street between Dumaine and St. Philip Streets, the Cornstalk Hotel is perfectly situated for a romantic getaway in the French Quarter. Walk out of your room to stroll Royal Street, browsing antique shops and art galleries, or venture just a few blocks over to the bustle of Bourbon Street.

The Cornstalk has hosted countless actors, luminaries and even a former U.S. President. Allegedly, Harriet Beecher Stowe stopped here, and was later inspired by nearby slave markets to write "Uncle Tom's Cabin."
