New Orleans is proud to be the home of the National World War II Museum, named by TripAdvisor as the #1 Attraction in New Orleans. Located in the Warehouse District, the museum’s tours are a combination of history and emotion vividly realized with tours, musical events, and films.
While New Orleans is one of the most walkable cities in America, the French Quarter is about a mile southwest of the Quarter. Most hotels in the Vieux Carré are about a 25-30 minute walk or a 5-10 minute drive. The Best Western Plus St. Christopher Hotel is roughly a 15 to 18 minute walk from the museum and about an 8-10 minute walk from Jackson Square. We consider this to be a great choice if you’ll be spending time in both neighborhoods.
Staying in the Garden District will also give you the opportunity to ride the streetcar if you're looking to experience a little more of New Orleans' history.
