Steamboat NATCHEZ, Fourth of July Jazz Cruises

Celebrate Independence Day on the Steamboat NATCHEZ. A tasty Creole buffet will be served in the main dining room for lunch and dinner. On the evening cruise, you will have the best view between dueling fireworks displays over the Mississippi River. 


ESSENCE Festival® of Culture, July 3-5

During Fourth of July weekend, this festival gathers in New Orleans for the Essence Festival, a celebrating of Black excellence. This year's festival combines performances at Caesars Superdome by big-name stars such as Cardi B, Patti LaBelle, George Clinton and Big Freedia with inspirational speakers who will lead conversations about race and culture.  Former First Lady Michelle Obama will bring her podcast to the main stage to kick off the new Creator and Podcast Fest. Learn more.


Go 4th on the River, July 4

Celebrate the red, white and blue at Go Fourth on the River. Gather at the Mississippi riverfront for fireworks from a barge on the river. Find out why the American Pyrotechnic Association ranked New Orleans' main fireworks show the 5th "must see" fireworks display in the U.S. Learn more.


Running of the Bulls, July 10-12 

Every year, New Orleans hosts the Running of the Bulls, our version of Spain’s Encierro de Pamploma. Instead of running from real bulls, however, thousands gather early in the morning in Downtown New Orleans to run from the New Orleans Rollergirls who chase runners on their rollerblades with plastic bats.
