If you're like most Mardi Gras revelers, you're going to see more than your fair share of bars while you're in town. If you're looking for a great hotel or restaurant that also has a nice bar where you can meet up with friends before or after parades (or in the morning when you need a little "hair of the dog that bit you"), here are a few of our favorites.

  • Q & C Hotel

3rd Block Depot Kitchen + Bar at the W French Quarter

3rd Block concoction options include Honey Buzz Milk Punch made with Honey Nut Cheerio infused rum, honey syrup, holiday pie bitters and milk. Or maybe you’d prefer an Irridescent Gods with Mezcal, Tepache, lime, ginger, pineapple & elderflower kombucha. Since it’s Mardi Gras, order the King Cake Sua Da Cocktail, inspired by Vietnamese iced coffee (Cafe Sua Da).

  • Ice House Bar at Hotel Provincial

Ice House Bar at Hotel Provincial

This bar, adjacent to the lobby of the Hotel Provincial, is a great place to relax after a day exploring New Orleans. They have an impressive selection of liquor, beer and wine, and can make any New Orleans cocktail you can think of. (We hear James makes one of the best Bloody Marys anywhere.) Happy hour is from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. every afternoon.

  • Clarinet Lounge at the Holiday Inn Downtown Superdome

Clarinet Lounge at the Holiday Inn Downtown Superdome

This bar in the Holiday Inn is really fun. They have friendly bartenders, a great ambiance, and a wonderful bar menu. Happy hour specials are available between 4 p.m and 6 p.m. every day. While you're at the hotel, take time to check out the New Orleans murals. They're amazing!

Iberville Cuisine in the French Quarter

This restaurant is just a half block off Bourbon and it's the place to be this Mardi Gras not only for drinks but for bathrooms. See package. We suggest you order their Mardi Gras Martini or their iconic Hurricane in their signature bead cup. If you're going to Barkus, the dog parade, keep in mind that Iberville Cuisine has an inside courtyard and dogs are allowed. Woof!
